About Your Contributors, Part Two

Jim DeVivo is a doctoral candidate in the Program in Educational Theatre at NYU and the Artistic Associate for the New Plays for Young Audiences Series at the Provincetown Playhouse. He is also the Director of Education for Playwrights Theatre of NJ, where his responsibilities include coordinating the annual New Jersey Young Playwrights Festival. Jim teaches classes at NYU and Middlesex County College, and is an independent director, dramaturg, and teaching artist specializing in the creation of new work by and for young people.

Jim’s research interests include theatre by and for young people, theatre history, collaborative playbuilding, and the use of theatre in the curriculum.

Jim is an avid baseball fan who has worked as a Little League umpire and the Onfield Master of Ceremonies for the inaugural season of the Aberdeen IronBirds of the NY-Penn League.

He is excited to be involved in the planning of this Forum and contributing to the blog!
